The Chemistry of Cellucor C4

Introduction

C4 is a pre workout supplement that was developed to give athletes and whoever lifts weights a special edge by boosting focus, energy, and strength for a lifting session. C4 is very popular among people who spend a lot of time in the weight room throughout the year and are looking for an extra boost for their workouts to be the best they can be. I chose to do my project on this product because I personally use it and really like it. It has helped me amplify the intensity of my work-outs by a lot.

Cellucor is made up of Creatine Nitrate, Arginine AKG, N-Acetyl-L-tyrosine, Mucuna pruriens, Folic acid, Niacinamide, Synephrine HCI, and Pyridoxal phosphate. Every ingredient in C4 does a very different task than all of the others.

Main Chemicals, Compounds, Components

The two main components in C4 are put into a single chemical bond. They are: Creatine (C4H9N3O2) and Nitrate (NO3). These two combine to create, Creatine Nitrate. Creatine is very well know, in the terms of supplements, muscle mass building aid. Creatine is a natural component found in meats and other foods that contributes to muscle building. Nitrate, or nitric acid, is a compound that increases blood flow and gives a person more energy. The Nitrate in C4 can be sensed by a tingling in the person’s skin.
